Dr Tan Tee Yong graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1995, where he received his training in Anaesthesiology.
In 2006, Dr Tan was awarded a scholarship under the Health Manpower Development Program from the Ministry of Health Singapore to undergo further training in the field of Pain Medicine at the Royal Perth Hospital in Western Australia. He was conferred the Fellow of the Faculty of Pain Medicine, Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists.
Dr Tan received his training in Acupuncture at the Singapore College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and is one of the few doctors who is fully registered as an acupuncturist. This enables him to integrate both eastern and western form of pain management for his patients.
Dr Tan had pioneered many interventional pain treatments when he was working in Alexandra Hospital. He was also a clinical tutor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. Dr Tan was heavily involved in various committees. He was the Co-Chair of the Safety Committee at Alexandra Hospital from 2008 – 2009, and the Honorary Secretary of the Singapore Society of Anaesthesiologists from 2007 – 2008. Dr Tan was also a committee member of the Pain Society of Singapore.
